Giuliano’s — Harker recognises Dracula
In Chapter 13, Mina and Jonathan walk along Piccadilly after taking a bus to Hyde Park Corner. Outside the jeweller’s, Jonathan recognises Count Dracula watching a young woman.
Carlo Giuliano’s shop was at 115 Piccadilly. The novel’s name is commonly transcribed as “Guiliano’s”. This is a former shop site, not a surviving Victorian shop interior, and the pin indicates the historical address area.
Mina sees a pale man with a pointed beard and white teeth; Jonathan recognises the man who imprisoned him in Transylvania. The shock of seeing him in a familiar London street brings the distant horror home.
This encounter is separate from Harker’s later search for the Count’s house in Chapter 20. Our walk combines the scenes; it does not reproduce a single journey made by the characters.
View from public paths and pavements; use marked crossings and respect private entrances.
